Jailbreaking with Legacy iOS Kit
LukeeGD edited this page 2024-11-24 14:02:47 +08:00
This wiki page is only for the "Jailbreak Device" option in Legacy iOS Kit, and this uses the Ramdisk Method. For the other methods of jailbreaking, go to the "Jailbreaking" wiki page
- The procedure will be depending on your usage, operating system, and iOS device. Make sure that your setup is supported by the script. See the README for details.
- You do NOT need to restore your device to use this, since the method that will be used here does not use Custom IPSW.
- For A5(X) devices, this method of jailbreaking requires usage of checkm8-a5.
- Use other jailbreak methods as much as possible.
- For more details on checkm8-a5, go to the "Troubleshooting" page.
- The exception to this is for iOS versions compatible with g1lbertJB: iOS 5.0 to 6.1.2
- S5L8900 devices (iPhone 2G, 3G, touch 1) are not supported with this jailbreak method. Go to the Custom IPSW Method instead, under Restore/Downgrade.
- The jailbreak will be untethered.
- Exceptions to this are 4.2.9, 4.2.10, and iPad 2 4.3.x, where the jailbreak is semi-tethered
- Jailbreaking for 32-bit devices and versions support:
- iPhone 2G and touch 1 - 3.1.3 only
- iPhone 3G - 4.1 and 3.1.3
- iPod touch 2 - 4.2.1, 4.1, and 3.1.3
- iPhone 3GS - All versions are supported (all release versions from 3.0 to 6.1.6)
- Other devices - All versions from 3.1.3 to 9.3.4 are supported, with some exceptions
- iOS 9.0.x is not supported
- A5(X) 8.0-8.2 is not supported. Go to ohd
- For more details, you may also go to: Jailbreaking
- No data will be lost, but please back up your data and save onboard SHSH blobs just in case.
- You NEED a working Home and Top/Power button to enter DFU mode when needed.
- If your button/s are broken, you can use a DFU IPSW to force the device to DFU mode. This will also clear all device data, so backup data and SHSH blobs before proceeding.
- If you wish to proceed using a DFU IPSW, go to Restore 32-bit Device
- Connect your iOS device to your PC/Mac.
- Start the script by running
restore.sh
- When the main menu shows up, select Jailbreak Device.
- When prompted, select your options and follow the given instructions.
- After the installation process, your device should be successfully jailbroken.
